Folk Bal and Dance Workshops, Wellington

7-8 October 2023

A special weekend of dance that will undoubtedly make Wellingtonian dance enthusiasts and folk music aficionados fall in love with Balfolk.

Balfolk is a folk dance and music movement from Europe that gives new life to traditional dances, a modern way to dance to folk tunes. It has a friendly, social and energising atmosphere. Dances are simple and easy to learn but also have depth allowing for exploration and playful variations which makes it accessible to people with all skill levels.

The weekend offers opportunities to learn the varied repertoire of Balfolk dances under the skilful guidance of Michael Parmenter & Kate Grace, Balfolk Aotearoa/NZ’s co-directors. It concludes in a joyful celebration with a Folk Bal.
